As it would turn out (not surprisingly since I have lived with this hard to pronounce last name for my entire life) I realized I was being referred to as the PT with the long Italian last name. This got me thinking that if people can't say my name, how can they tell their family and friends about me? I began to think of what truly embodies what I am trying to do and how I practice.
Connectivity just came to me while I was sitting in a continuing education class. The minute it popped into my head, I knew it was perfect!
I checked with Merriam-Webster and it confirmed my choice by defining Connectivity as the quality, state, or capability of being connective or connected.
Not only are we connected head to toe (the foot bone's connected to the leg bone...), but also to one another (connections we make, relationships, sharing energy fields, etc.) Our physical health reflects our emotional and mental health because it truly is all connected. So, the connections we have and make impact everything!! Our physical, emotional, and mental health depend on us being aligned, balanced, and, well, connected!
In addition to all of that, I am not just a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I am a CranioSacral Therapist, and I practice with a holistic approach. Knowing that everything is connected, I look globally at the whole body to help the patients that I work with and I treat what my hands feel. I recognize the importance of all the systems in the body, how they can impact one another, and I strive to enhance your overall function.
So, I changed my name from Masciangelo Physical Therapy, LLC to Connectivity Therapy and Holistic Health, LLC and here we are!
Cheers! Salute! I look forward to meeting and helping you and your family!
