FAQs
Let’s Ease Your Mind
What can I expect during a session?
During treatment, you will remain fully clothed and can lay comfortably on my treatment table or sit in a chair. For a pediatric patient, they can be treated in a parent's arms, on the floor while playing, or on the table. Babies can be treated while nursing, bottle feeding, playing, or sleeping. The hands-on evaluation will asses the whole body, looking at areas such as: mobility, posture, restrictions and tension patterns. I will work to release these areas using gentle hands-on, manual therapy techniques.
What can CST help with and who is it good for?
CranioSacral Therapy can help with so many things! It can help you as it releases restrictions and tension, improves overall alignment, helps with pain, decreases/eliminates scar tissue, improves the function of the body’s systems, and it can create a sense of calming, sensory regulation, and overall well-being. CST is safe for individuals of all ages and I have worked with babies in-utero, 1 day old babies, children, adults, and the geriatric population, for a great variety of conditions with great success.
Will I feel anything during CranioSacral Therapy?
Everyone feels and notices different sensations during treatment. What you may notice is pulsing, throbbing, shifting and changing within the body, unwinding and releasing, changes in temperature, breathing pattern, and a calming in the body. Since the therapy is gentle and subtle, some patients do not sense any changes during treatment, but may notice changes in their bodies after treatment.
How do I know if this approach is right for me?
If you are seeking gentle, individualized care for pain, tension, stress, headaches, TMJ concerns, injury recovery, or nervous system regulation, this work may be a great fit for you. If you prefer a calm, one-on-one environment where you feel seen and understood, you will likely feel safe and at home here.
How do I know if this approach is right for my baby or child?
Families often come to me when they are navigating torticollis, plagiocephaly, feeding challenges, oral motor concerns, developmental delays, sensory needs, or difficulty calming and settling. I use a very gentle approach that is rooted in neurological regulation and attachment parenting. I have worked with pediatric patients throughout my entire career and I am very comfortable supporting families through therapy.
What should I wear?
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to relax during treatment. You will remain fully clothed during the session, though I ask that shoes be removed.
How long are sessions?
Most sessions are 60 minutes in length as this is a good amount of time to allow the body to relax, release, and create meaningful changes. If you need something different, we can discuss what feels most appropriate for you or your child.
How many sessions will I need?
Every person and every body is different. Some people notice meaningful change in only a few sessions, while others benefit from ongoing support over time. We will come up with a plan together based on your goals.
Do you offer intensive programs?
Yes. For patients who need deeper or more concentrated support, I offer multi-day intensive programs that allow for more focused progress in a shorter timeframe.
Do you work with individuals who have special needs or developmental differences?Yes, I support both children and adults with a wide range of developmental, neurological, and sensory needs. My training in Neuro Developmental Treatment, CranioSacral Therapy, and hands-on physical therapy allows me to adjust each session so the patient feels safe and treatment is effective. I meet every patient exactly where they are, and I adapt the treatment, environment, and approach to match their unique nervous system needs. Families and individuals often notice improvements in comfort, regulation, mobility, and overall improvements in development and throughout their daily routine.
Will Dr. Jackie be the one treating me each time?
Yes. I do all evaluations and all treatment sessions myself so that your care remains consistent. The care that I provide is with love and is patient centered, which means that you are my main focus, you will be an integral part of decision making, and you will guide our sessions to achieve your goals.
Can I be with my baby during the entire session?
Absolutely. Many little ones remain in their parents arms and lap during our appointments. Treatment can be on the table or the play mat as the baby allows and is appropriate. I encourage parents to stay close and be part of the session. Your presence helps your baby feel safe and supported.
What ages do you work with?
I work with patients throughout the lifespan, from babies only days old to older adults.
Where are you located?
My office is located inside a refurbished church building, located at 211 Broad Street, Suite 102 in Red Bank, NJ. Free and convenient parking is located right behind the building.
